The Cailte DH is the result of 35 years of riding and 12 years of frame building. Creating the Oisin and Jester has honed the understanding of how to build a downhill platform that comes screaming out of the blocks to a the trail well refined.
The ride is balanced, direct and confidence inspiring allowing you to just concentrate of the trail. It is available as a frameset including shock, a frame module (frame, shock, fork, headset, bars/stem and saddle/post) or as a complete build with Fox suspension, Shimano Saint drivetrain, TRP brakes and Race Face parts/wheels.
The Cailte comes in 10mm reach increments from 445 to 505 as standard (refer table below for full details). It has proportionate change in both stack and chain stay length.
We settle on the standard 63 deg head tube angle with 0.5 deg adjustment either way via the front shock mount. There is also a choice bteween 28% and 34% progression on the shock curve if there is a ened to tune the spring curve.
We have run the cables external and use an internal wedge on the seat post to keep a clean aesthetic. There is a boss for an integrated Pademelon steering damper, UDH and my version of a UBM (universal brake mount, not released by SRAM at this point).
After riding a heap of different suspension platforms and doing a large amount of research and design work, the four bar Horst link platform was decided on. My work with that platform on the Oisin and Jester has given me a deep understanding of it's tuning capabilities and allows me to tune the performace to where I want it. I've sperated the shock from the wheel path by employing a linkage driven shock. This gives a greater contrl over designing the best shock curve for ultimate wheel tracking.
