Oisin Trail

  The Oisin (pron. oh-sheen) is new to the list of offerings from Devlin. The Oisin is the bells and whistles model of the range. Designed with over 30 years of mtb experience over a multitude of different platforms and combining a host of modern trail bike design ideas, it has quickly proven itself to be very adept at a broad range of riding conditions.

The Oisin is a mid travel trail bike with 140m of rear travel and designed to have 140-160mm up front. Built with a mix of premium tubes and materials from different suppliers to achieve the perfect blend of function and strength. Utilising 3d printed parts and custom shaped tuning with 304 SS fittings where needed across the frame.

Fillet brazing and slip joints are used on this model. Both Silver (slip joints) and Bronze (mitred joints) are used depending on the location in the frame structure. Both methods provide great strength and inherently manage stress better at the joints. 

The Oisin is both adept at climbing and descending. With good anti-squat and a longer wheelbase for stable and confident fast riding. We have adopted a semi forward geometry which uses a longer frame reach with a short stem and moderate head angles, 66 degrees being the optimum angle in testing. All Oisins are sold with a recommended 35mm stem, as this is the optimum length to realise the best layout of the platform. This forms the basis of the handling package for each customer.

A professional fit is recommended when ordering the Oisin and works to give an efficient seated climbing position whilst also being balanced standing. While we have a set geometry and many size options there is always the option for a a tweak with custom geometry. Being a bike designed for the roller coaster terrain of trail riding, we feel having the frame tailored to the individual offers the best experience for the money. I work with two very well respected fitters in SEQ but can also work with a fitter local to you.

Included is Fox Float X shock and Cane Creek headset. Other shock options can be used but may require a change in rocker geometry to work and a fee associated.

Stainless steel relief head tube logo, two bottle bosses on down tube, M6 stainless seat binder bolt and single solid colour powder coat with ‘Devlin’ on downtube and logo in select places are standard. Internal rear brake and gear lines are extra but can be incorporated.
